I bought tickets in advance in order to avoid queueing but there was only one line of ticket holders like me. The ticket checking system is unnecessarily cumbersome and very slow. Had I wanted to buy tickets on the day, it was not clear where they were being sold. I do not understand why you do not just let people enter if you do not provide timed tickets. There was plenty of room for more visitors inside and the turnover of visitors was quite quick as there is not a lot open to the public. We should not have been made to queue for over an hour. Finally, there was no explanatory information for the visitor. Altogether a very disappointing experience.

The reservation is very convenient. I don't think the organization of the monastery itself is good, but that doesn't depend on you. The way they distribute the entrance groups is terrible. And they treat people very badly. It would be good to be told by the agencies that sell your tickets.

The staff at the entrance always lets the groups tour enter the venue first and ignore the individual line. She even let a few group of 20 tourists enter the venue first and then let 5-7 of individual queue in. This was unfair. It was very bad experience. I won't recommend anyone coming here.

Expect to wait close to 2 hours to get in as the queue is always long. Beautiful monastery but that's about it. Takes only 20min to walk around so not sure if it's worth queo2 hours for it

The place lives up to its reputation, but a reservation with time slots could relieve visitors of the long wait...

Jerónimos Monastery

At the Jerónimos Monastery discover the nuance of Portugal architecture, its beauty shining through from the entrances to the corridors of the structure. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Monastery narrates tales from medieval history and was built by King Manuel I. Once you are there, notice the connection of the building to Belém Tower, built by the same king. The cloisters are two leveled and it is said that it took 100 years to create this fine, intricate style. Mythical creatures like gargoyles and marine animals can be found in the detailing of the architecture. Don’t miss out on the intricacies of different architectural styles including Gothic, Moorish, and Renaissance.

Navy Planetarium

Experience a minute part of the life of an astronaut at the Navy Planetarium. Find out exciting details about space, stars, their formation, and their long history. See various details come to life with tales and emotions. The gallery, which hosts a number of themed exhibitions, is also accessible as part of the ticket. Attend a number of seminars to help you experience life as an astronaut. The planetarium continues to participate in a number of ongoing national and international astronomy projects in addition to its spectacular shows and sessions in the dome. Don't miss out on the opportunity to live among the stars, which offers a unique view of the night sky with over 9000 stars and the Milky Way illuminated by LEDs.
