Smooth purchase process. The problem is that the audio guide was only available in English.
Apart from that, the audio guide, which was from CLIO MUSE, did not appear in the application that already had it downloaded. We had to open it through the web browser.

I paid in advance for the transfer from drop off to gate so I wouldn't have to walk the "30min" walk uphill. The bus was crowded so we walked. It only took 10 min to get to castle, not 30. It was uphill but not bad. So I never used the transfer up or down. In addition, I paid for audio guide but didn't see place to pick them up. The tour was very short and the signs at each room explained everything. The castle was good and I enjoyed it

The ticketing and entrance were seamless.
However, the audio guide had to be purchased on site and an app had to be added to our phones and after all that effort and the small extra charge it just diidn,t work well. We were better off reading the placards at each part of the exhibit!
All said, It is a beautiful, historical place . We enjoyed our time there.

There should be a food court or something! I forgot to bring a lunch and there was just 2 places for some snacks and one restaurant. It was full of people, a huge line to go there(maybe about 45min wait) and no water fountain to fill our water bottles.
Also, the audio guide was not user friendly and on my phone.
The Pena Palace was beautiful, but some things must be improve to make the experience better.

My son and I loved the palace. A beautiful exhibit which depicted a time in history. However, It was very crowded even with the time allotments. Perhaps a 15 minute gap between reserved time slots would work better. We almost did not get in because we were 5 minutes late but we argued and got in. All the more reason to have a 15 minute allowance before the next group can go in. The travel to get up to this historic sight took a lot of time (we had our own car) with the traffic etc. Also, we purchased our tickets online but when we got there it was confusing as to where we needed to go. More signage and attendants to ask questions would be helpful. However, was worth the effort to get there.
